Juneau's Tyler & MSL's Davis Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Feb. 17)

Takis Tyler (MacDowell School, also known as Juneau) and Savanna Davis (Milwaukee School of Languages) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 9-15.

Tyler finished with 23 points on six made three-pointers for the Pioneers in an 81-72 non-conference win over Franklin in the SEC/MPS Challenge. Juneau, currently 10-1 in the MCC Gold Division, can wrap up the regular season title with a win over Bradley Tech on Feb. 24, or a loss by Carmen Northwest in either of the Eagles’ final two games.

Davis stuffed the stat sheet in MSL’s win over Riverside last week, posting 21 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Davis is now averaging 18.5 points per game. The Hawks earned the two seed entering the MCC Gold Division girls basketball conference tournament, and will host seven seed Juneau in the first round this week.

In the WIAA state tournament, MSL received a seven seed, and will host 10 seed Kewaskum in the WIAA regionals on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
