Reagan's Schmidt & Hamilton's Brown Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Sept. 16)
Silvana Schmidt (Reagan High School) and Latayvious Brown (Hamilton) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 8-14.
Schmidt, a senior at Reagan, posted the low score (42) in the girls golf match at Noyes Park Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 9. Schmidt was an all-conference honoree in 2023-24 as the Huskies captured the MCC team championship.
Reagan girls golf is back on the course two times this week, including at Warnimont Park Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and at Hansen Park Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Brown, a junior at Hamilton, dominated the gridiron under the lights on Friday, Sept. 13 against Marshall, racking up 391 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. He also returned three kickoffs for 170 total yards and a touchdown as the Wildcats cruised past Marshall 52-26.
On Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m., the Wildcats will square off with the undefeated Reagan Huskies at Pulaski Stadium in a battle between two of the best ground attacks in the MCC. Since its season-opening non-conference loss to Kenosha Christian Life, Hamilton has rattled off three consecutive wins, averaging nearly 370 rushing yards per game in the process. Reagan, meanwhile, is pushing nearly 400 yards on the ground per game, led by senior Brennan Litchford (557 total rushing yards and 10 touchdowns).
