Reagan's Stanula & Riverside's Albarran Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Oct. 14)
Natalie Stanula (Reagan High School) and Noah Albarran (Riverside University High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 6 – Oct. 12.
Stanula, who captured her fourth consecutive MCC individual girls tennis singles title earlier this season, is headed to the WIAA state tournament after advancing through the first two rounds of the Brookfield East sectionals before falling in the championship match.
The WIAA girls tennis state tournament runs from Oct. 17-19 at Nielsen Stadium in Madison, Wis. Stanula is now 99-11 in her four-year Reagan career, and enters the Div. 1 state tournament as the five seed. She has a bye in the first round and will await the winner of Lydia Sabat (Middleton) and Rya Arreazola (Janesville Craig).
Noah Albarran, an accomplished long distance track runner in the MCC, continues to thrive on the cross country course as well. Albarran finished seventh at the Wisconsin Lutheran Viking Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 10, posting a time of 16:21.60. The MCC cross country conference championship is Saturday, Oct. 19.
